Students at RGIT Learn Beauty in Diversity

The students from RGIT Australia’s Hobart campus who are currently pursuing the diploma of leadership and management recently had a fun experience learning the beauty in diversity. The students learnt about managing diversity in the workplace at the human resources building at the international wall of friendship in Hobart. BSBDIV501 - Manage diversity in the workplace is an elective unit required to be completed for students of BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management. The students first learned the meaning of diversity in the workplace. It means that a company’s workforce includes people of varying gender, age, religion, race, ethnicity, cultural background, sexual orientation, religion, languages, education, abilities, etc. It ensures a variety of different perspectives. The students learned about the various challenges that they faced firsthand and how they could work to solve issues in the future. The students learned how people from different areas could provide unique perspectives and how co-workers could speak with one another.
RGIT’s BSB51918 Diploma of Leadership and Management course includes 4 core units and 8 elective units of competency to attain the qualification. The core units include the following:

BSBHRM506 - Manage recruitment, selection and induction processes
BSBDIV501 - Manage diversity in the workplace
After the completion, the students can attain the qualification. This qualification opens up various career opportunities for students like a business manager, human resources manager, manager and sales team manager.
